Why diaspora communities?
Since 2010, DRC has engaged directly with diverse diaspora communities to strengthen their engagement in countries of origin, transit and residence. We believe that diaspora actors play a vital role in humanitarian assistance, recovery and development in their countries of origin.
Currently, the Diaspora Programme within the Civil Society Engagement team hosts four different initiatives, touching on several thematic areas and across multiple geographies, such as Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Ukraine, Lebanon, etc. Find out more here
