Based in Paris, Business at OECD is the officially recognised business voice to the OECD, conveying business perspectives and expertise to policymakers on a broad range of global economic governance and policy issues. Our members are the leading business and employers’ organisations in OECD countries. We also include business organisations in selected non-OECD member countries, as well as international sectoral business organisations.

Job Description

Business at OECD (BIAC) is recruiting a Communications Co-ordinator who, under the supervision of the Policy and Strategic Communications Director, will work closely with the OECD and our global network to support our Paris-based team in the following areas:

  • Manage our external and internal communications activities to raise our visibility within our global network, at the OECD and with external stakeholders, in line with the overall communications strategy. This specifically includes management and audience-specific content creation for Business at OECD’s corporate communication channels:
  • Online: Develop and implement content, plans and engagement strategies for social media and website;
  • Newsletter: Coordinate the production and dissemination of our monthly newsletter, collecting and editing articles, and monitoring impact;
  • Media: Draft and proofread press releases, manage media relations, handle press inquiries, organize interviews as required, and analyze coverage;
  • Events: Manage the communications activities of major events, special projects and campaigns and support related outreach activities;
  • Others: Develop, edit and proofread brochures, presentations, and other communications materials.
  • Manage our organizational branding with our Policy and Communications Director to maximize the brand equity of Business at OECD, in cooperation with external contractors, and develop and deliver guidance for internal and external communications;
    • Management of brand visibility: Ensure branding materials are visible with members and network partners;
    • Ensure corporate identity is maximized across all audiences;
  • Manage and build relationships with communications, government, and public affairs professionals from our global network, OECD member and non-member states, international fora, and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

Academic Background

  • A university degree in the field of business, political sciences, international relations, communications, or a related field.

Professional Background

    • A minimum of two years of experience working in a communications role with similar responsibilities, preferably in an international organization or business organization.
    • Proven experience in public affairs, stakeholder outreach, communication, and event management.
    • Very good knowledge of professional editorial standards.
    • Experience in website maintenance and content development.
    • Experience in online communication tools and methodologies (such as online monitoring, web analytics or other online measurement tools, search engine optimization, and online marketing) to understand stakeholder / audience information needs.
    • Experience in producing video and photography content in a professional context.
    • Excellent working knowledge of internet technologies and an intuitive understanding of current online innovations.

Skills and Tools

  • Knowledge of corporate engagement channels (X, LinkedIn, YouTube) and their use.
  • Excellent ICT (Information and Communications Technology) knowledge and skills, notably for the web (CMS-based) and online communication.
  • Proven skills in web development and management.
  • Knowledge of graphic design and desktop publishing software (Adobe Creative Suite) and marketing software (HubSpot and Mailchimp).
  • Excellent knowledge of photo and video editing software.
  • Microsoft 365 suite as a collaborative and publishing environment.

Languages

  • Outstanding writing skills in English and good knowledge of French; knowledge of another language would be an advantage.

What the OECD offers

Monthly base salary starting from 3 705.85 EUR (GA3/1), plus allowances based on eligibility, exempt of French income tax.
