WHY JOIN WFP?
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
The National Zero Hunger Strategic Review (NSR) recommendation has stimulated the necessary partnerships to achieve SDG 2, fostering coordination among the Government of Armenia, the donor community, United Nations agencies, beneficiaries, civil society, the private sector, and the diaspora. WFP Armenia will pursue strategic partnerships and joint advocacy efforts with all relevant stakeholders aiming to achieve full implementation of its Country Strategic Plan (CSP) for 2019-2024 as well as diversification of donor base and types of partnerships. The WFP Armenia will develop short and long-term approaches through a whole-of-society approach, targeted at strategic partnerships with WFP’s traditional and emerging donors, the Government of Armenia, and complementary partnerships with the private sector, diaspora, and the UN agencies.
Given the above, the WFP Armenia has identified a need for hiring a Business Support Associate (Partnership) who can be part of the Partnership team and will contribute to the development of new and existing partnerships including private partnerships to support the implementation of WFP activities, advocate for the work of WFP, and raise and mobilize resources to support WFP’s efforts to promote food and nutrition security and achieve zero hunger in Armenia by 2030.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the overall guidance of the Country Director and the direct supervision of the Partnership Officer, the Business Support Associate (Partnerships) will be responsible for the below duties that include, but not limited to:

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education:
Completion of a secondary school education. A university degree in Political Science, Business Development, Development Economics, Marketing Communications, or other relevant fields is desirable.

Languages:
Fluency (level C) in English and Armenian languages; working knowledge (level B) of the Russian language is desired.
