Mission and objectives
Youth Co:Lab positions young people front and center in order to solve the region’s most pressing challenges. Co-created in 2017 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Citi Foundation, Youth Co:Lab aims to establish a common agenda for countries in the Asia-Pacific region to empower and invest in youth so that they can accelerate the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through leadership, social innovation and entrepreneurship.
Context
The Leave No One Behind principle is premised on the idea that the SDGs can be successfully implemented only with the inclusion of all segments of society, including governments, civil society organisations (CSOs), women, youth, indigenous people and the private sector. UNDP and its partners believe that Youth have the potential to be leaders, to create inclusive societies and the ability to reach the most vulnerable and marginalised. Youth can make a positive difference by taking on the challenges in the 2030 Agenda through social innovation, mobilising their peers and communities, and creating adaptive and innovative solutions. Therefore, UNDP BRH Youth Unit is doing the horizon scanning on UNDP’s regional work on Youth empowerment and Indigenous Peoples. The stories mapped out from this assignment will be used in the newsletter, a year in review and will be shared with UNDP colleagues. This exercise will help us better understand UNDP’s current work on LNOB and guide the development of the latest Youth portfolio project documents.
Task Description
UNDP BRH Youth Unit is looking for 7 aspiring Online Volunteers to support consolidating around 200 UNDP stories and news on Youth and Indigenous Peoples in recent years. The Online Volunteers will have to collect relevant information from UNDP country’s office websites and consolidate it into Airtable according to thematic topics, such as gender and climate.
