JOB DESCRIPTION

Functional Setting

The Regional Office for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (RO EECA) of the ICMPD was established in April 2017 and is located in Vienna, Austria. RO EECA works with over ten countries in the region and implements various projects on the ground through its offices in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, and Ukraine.

The main focus areas and portfolio topics of the RO EECA are the following: Diaspora engagement, Return and Reintegration, Legal and Labour Migration, Education on Migration, Analytical Capacities and Research on Migration, Migration Policy Recommendations and Support, Capacity Building in different migration areas, Border Management and Security, Media and Migration, Visa Dialogue and Consular Affairs, etc.

The Project Management Assistant works closely with the Project Manager in Moldova and the Project Team in Vienna ICMPD HQ under the general supervision of the Regional Portfolio Manager. Whenever necessary the Project Management Assistant shall support the work of RO EECA.

Position-Specific Expertise

– Experience in the organization of events, meetings, workshops etc. is an asset.
– Strong knowledge and understanding of project administration and implementation of activities in an international organization context is desirable.
– Ability to coordinate with different teams and with conflicting priorities and deadlines
Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skills
– Bachelor’s degree in related area of work or equivalent.
– A minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience in an international context
– Proficiency (verbal/written) in English and Romanian is a requirement. Knowledge of Russian and/or other locally-used languages is an asset.
