Context
This assignment is in support of the Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services Network (BES-Net) project, which operates under the Nature Hub of the UNDP Global Bureau for Policy and Programme Support. BES-Net provides science-policy-practice dialogues (or “trialogues”) focused on biodiversity and ecosystem services, fostering inclusive and contextualized solutions for the sustainable use of natural resources. By translating and refining these articles, you will help communicate valuable insights and promote knowledge-sharing across global and regional platforms, ultimately supporting biodiversity knowledge promotion and action.
Task Description
This assignment entails proofreading and editing two French articles and translating them into English. The first article is an interview with a Senegalese marine biology expert and university professor, while the second covers the weaving of Indigenous and Local Knowledge into national knowledge systems for biodiversity conservation in West and Central Africa. The length of the articles in French is of approximately 1500 words. The volunteer’s work will ensure high-quality, accurate translations that maintain the original message, contributing to the broader visibility and understanding of biodiversity knowledge.
