We are currently in search of a highly organized and self-motivated IT Systems Support Officer to join our Secretariat offices located in Copenhagen, Denmark.
As the first point of contact for IT support, you will play a crucial role in maintaining smooth operations for our staff as well as in-house visitors from the ICES network. Working alongside your IT Department colleagues, you will provide first-line, technical IT support to users at all levels. Typical activities include the remote installation of software, investigation, and triage of technical issues. Alongside this, you will also be responsible for security and user account management. As the first point of contact for all incoming IT issues and requests, you will demonstrate a professional and helpful approach, with excellent communication skills and effective customer service expertise.
We offer a job in the heart of Copenhagen where you’ll join a close-knit team of 3 IT team members and have lots of opportunity for sparring and skill development. Our Secretariat office is made up of approximately 75 staff who represent 28 nationalities, and our meeting facilities are regularly full of visiting experts from our 20 member counties and beyond.

The appointment will be full-time (38 hours per week), starting in January 2025 or as soon as possible, for a two-year contract period with the possibility of extension.
ICES Secretariat staff enjoy privileges and immunities pursuant to the Host Agreement between the Government of Denmark and ICES. The salaries of ICES staff are exempt from Danish income tax and are based on, but not identical to, the United Nations common salary system. This role is classified as C5 and is eligible for an annual step increases. A tax-free pension scheme is available, to which both the employee and ICES contribute (7.9% and 15.8% of salary, respectively).
