The consultant will assist the Knowledge and Risk Unit in executing the Supply Chains Integrated Programme: – Update and implement the knowledge management strategy. – Update and implement the communications strategy. – Support the work to set up a visual identity and branding for the Integrated Programme (IP) – Support the conceptualization of a podcast series related to the IP. – Support the launch of the IP. – Consult the 8 child projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
The tasks and responsibilities of the consultant will be as follows: • Update and implement the knowledge management strategy. o Update of knowledge management strategy and action plan. o Define knowledge types specific to the programme, documented in the strategy o Develop a compilation list / compendium of resources and databases with information relevant to the Integrated Programme (IP) o Support the assessment of country-project knowledge baselines and needs. o Support work on establishing a knowledge management platform. o Consult with the 8 child projects, UNEP Comms Unit and UNEP-GEF Unit. o Present the final products to IP project partners. • Update and implement Communications strategy. o Update communications strategy with an elaborated annual social media strategy and communication action plan. o Development of communications collateral and core visibility and communication products (e.g. communication guidelines and templates for use at the IP level.). o Support the conceptualization of a podcast series related to the Integrated Programme. o Consult with the 8 child projects, UNEP Comms Unit and UNEP-GEF Unit. o Present the final products to IP project partners. o Support the work to set up a visual identity and branding for the IP. o Support the creation of a unified visual identity and brand strategy for the IP, including contributions to brand consultation meetings. o Develop of a brand guideline document to ensure consistency across all communications. o Contribute to visual and digital communications, including photo gathering and editing, graphic creation and presentation, and other multi-media editing, including video and audio. o Consult with the 8 child projects, UNEP Comms Unit and UNEP-GEF Unit. o Present the final products to IP project partners. • Provide support in stakeholder consultations and meetings as required. • Support other tasks as required.
Qualifications/special skills
Advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in a field related to communications, knowledge management, marketing, international relation public affairs or a related field. A firstlevel university degree in combination with qualifying’ experience (2 additional years) may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Work experience in developing knowledge management is preferred. Work experience in strategic behavioral change communications is desirable. Skills with communication and graphic design tools, for example Canva, Adobe InDesign, etc., are preferred. Experience of working in an international and intergovernmental organization would be an advantage. Proven ability to work in a multitasking environment is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
Additional Information
