Job Summary

The Education Practice Area leverages cutting-edge methodologies, education survey techniques, and practical educator experience to improve education and education policy. Education Practice Area staff design and conduct high-quality education surveys, including some of the largest education studies in the nation, leaning deeply into partnerships with clients for the entire lifecycle of a study, from school recruitment to the dissemination of analyses and findings.

 

The Education Analyst coordinates and assists with education studies in elementary/secondary/postsecondary education research and evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and assist with education studies in elementary/secondary/postsecondary education research and evaluation.
  • Build and maintain education research data files and manipulate large data sets.
  • Provide general support for instrument design, district/school recruitment, data collection, data analysis, and reporting activities.
  • Assist in the development of training materials and training of data collection staff.
  • Provide technical support for and assists with the monitoring of data collection and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist with the research and literature review of published and web-based education research information sources.
  • Analyze data and assist in the preparation of text, statistical tables and graphics for project reports and related presentations.
  • Prepare standard reports, budgets and monitors project costs.
  • May have direct contact with the client.
  • Contribute to proposals and business development.
  • Write proposal sections of limited technical complexity and gather background information to support proposal efforts.
  • Meet scientific stature goals by co-authoring papers to peer-reviewed journals, participate in professional meetings and associations, and develop tools and methods to advance RTI’s capabilities.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 0 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Quantitative and/or qualitative research experience or coursework.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities/tasks across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Ability to listen and communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to meet frequent, multiple and tight deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:
