JOB DESCRIPTION

IOM in South Sudan has a broad range of programming centered around three broad areas: Humanitarian Coordination and Support; Humanitarian response and Resilience; and Peacebuilding, Transition, and Development. Humanitarian Coordination and support include leading/co-leading the Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) and Shelter and Non-Food Items (NFI) Clusters, Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and management of WASH and Shelter and NFI Core-pipelines, Humanitarian Hubs, and common transport services. Humanitarian response and Resilience include CCCM, WASH, Shelter & NFI, Health, Protection, Gender equality and inclusion, Mental health and Psychosocial support and the Management of a Rapid Response Fund. Under Peacebuilding, Transition and Development, IOM South Sudan implements programming on Housing, Land and Property Page issues, Transition and Recovery, Transhumance conflict prevention, Community-based violence reduction, Community development and Migration Management.

Under the general supervision of Head of Supply Chain, and the direct supervision of the Warehouse and Logistics Officer in Juba, the incumbent will be responsible for the following

In particular, she/he will

  1. Assist in preparation of load plans and packing list for cargo shipment. Ensure that cargo is offloaded and loaded in a timely manner.
  2. Undertaking other duties that may be assigned
  3. Inform Requesting unit of cargo received
  4. Ensure that stocks are properly stacked and stored properly in the Warehouse.
  5. Ensure that stock cards are in place for all cargo stored and that movement of stock is properly recorded in the stock cards.
  6. Record expiry date of items and mention on the stock cards and weekly report
  7. Ensure that the assigned task for the day is done properly.
  8. Issue waybill and any forms related to the in &out movement of the material/goods/spare parts from the warehouse.
  9. Liaise with Warehouse & Logistics Assistant for shipped cargo, for update of the inventory
  10.  Verify that the correct items and quantity are delivered to the airport or to partner agencies based on the packing list.
  11. Make sure to issue the stock on a FIFO basis (first in first out)
  12. Support the monitoring of casual laborers in the warehouse
  13. Submit warehouse stock report to all program managers on a weekly basis
Education
  • Secondary education and/or a certificate in Business Administration, Operations Management, Procurement and Logistics, or alternatively, a combination of related education and experience in this field
Experience
  • Warehousing and Logistics, or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience with specific focus on logistics and procurement in medium-large scale complex emergencies and inventory stock/ supply chain management. Previous experience in conflict affected areas/natural disaster areas with limited infrastructure
Languages

Thorough knowledge of English language is required. Knowledge of local languages is essential.
