YELCP PROJECT
UNOPS is undertaking the WB funded Yemen Emergency Lifeline Connectivity Project (YELCP) that targets to provide climate resilient road access and employment and entrepreneurship opportunities to food insecure rural population of Yemen. YELCP is being implemented through the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) in partnership with the Rural Access Program (RAP) as a local implementation partner. The financing instrument of the project is Investment Project Financing with an operational life of three years and eleven months. The last twelve (12) months are set aside for management to carry out the Defects Notification Period (DNP).
The Project is financing the rehabilitation of lifeline rural access roads in selected areas in Yemen to contribute toward addressing road access to food and other humanitarian needs, and unemployment, whilst laying the foundation to (i) build resilience to climate change induced vulnerabilities, (ii) reduce gender gaps, and (iii) build the capacities of RAP and RMF through a dedicated capacity building program. The Project has four components as follows:
Component 1: Rural and Village Access Roads Improvement and Maintenance
Sub-Component 1.A: Rehabilitation of Lifeline Rural Access Roads
Sub-Component 1.B: Employment-Intensive Road Maintenance
Component 2: Strengthening Management Capacity of Transport Sector Public Institutions
Component 3: Project Implementation and Monitoring Support, Studies and Preparatory Activities

ADEN INTRA-URBAN ROADS PROJECT
UNOPS is undertaking the Japan funded Rehabilitation of Aden Intra-Urban Roads project that targets the to restore road access to critical infrastructure and vulnerable urban communities including the IDPs in the governorate of Aden in support of humanitarian and reconstruction efforts in Yemen, considering
climate-resilient and gender-responsive design approaches.
The project is financing the rehabilitation of two existing roads in Aden a) the 5th Taqniah street from the intersection with Kaltex Buriqa road to the intersection with 90th st, with a length of 2.89 km and b) Al Memdara street from Abdulqawi roundabout to the intersection with 22 Mayst, with a length of 690m.
Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the Project management support officer (PSO) will be responsible for efficient reviewing, monitoring and evaluation of the project activities and implementation progress and will promote a client-oriented approach consistent with UNOPS rules and regulations. He will work in close collaboration with the project teams in Yemen, respective units in the Amman Operational Hub, and local participating partners to ensure successful planning and implementation of the project’s components. The PSO will ensure a smooth coordination between the technical assistance team and the project team. He/she will be responsible for keeping track of activities, procurement requests, reporting as well as managing the day-to-day ad hoc concerns that may arise. He/she is expected to support in ensuring internal UNOPS assurance procedures and compliances
