JOB DESCRIPTION

With a strong focus on programme quality and support, the Head of Programme Support will guide the development and continuous evolution of NRC Sudan country’s grant portfolio and will be the PCM compliance/focal point. As delegated from the Head of Programme, ensure a robust Monitoring and Evaluation system for the Country programme.

Specific responsibilities 

Flexible to the changing context and programme in the country

  • Oversee the integration of Safe and Inclusive Programming minimum standards into PCM and other processes, as well as roll-out of NRC Sudan’s Safe and Inclusive Programming action plan
  • Oversee the integration of Safe and Inclusive Programming minimum standards into PCM and other processes, as well as roll-out of NRC Sudan’s Safe and Inclusive Programming action plan.
  • Oversight of other cross-cutting thematic areas of work and integration into programming and routines, as those positions are added to the Program Support Unit
  • Responsible for leading on NRC involvement in select consortia as partner
  • Initiate the development and embedding of technical guidance documents/SOPs and tools relevant to the Programme Support Unit.
  • Lead programmatic audits focussed on quality, compliance, timeliness, and relevance.
  • Contribute to lessons learnt and evidence-based programming in a systematic manner.
  • Oversight of initiatives and responsibilities as delegated by the Head of Programme.
  • Ensure coordination between NRC Sudan’s, Regional Office and Head Office on cross-cutting thematic areas of work, consortium management and PCM.

Generic professional competencies for this position: 

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience from a senior grant management position, with responsibility for programme, in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Experience of working on, coordinating or leading consortia or other forms of partnership implementation
  • Experience in M&E systems and approaches, and accountability mechanisms and frameworks
  • Experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal

Context/Specific skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of the context in Sudan
  • Knowledge of donor landscape, priorities and conditions
  • Experience of working in integrated programmes
