About the position

The Alliance Climate Action team is seeking a motivated and high-performing Portfolio Coordination and Reporting Support Intern to support the Climate Security team with essential coordination, reporting and administrative tasks. This role is designed to enhance team operations and communication, contributing to an organized and efficient work environment. Key responsibilities include team and portfolio coordination (such as managing the team workplan), supporting activity reporting, facilitating team communications (including support for newsletter development), and organizing common repositories.

This internship provides a valuable opportunity for individuals to gain experience within an international organization dedicated to research for development.

 

Key duties & responsibilities

  • Support coordination of the Climate Security Team’s portfolio, ensuring activities and timelines are documented, reported, and tracked for timely updates.
  • Maintain and regularly update the team’s workplan, document repository, and shared files, ensuring easy access and retrieval.
  • Assist in onboarding new team members, organizing introductory materials, and ensuring smooth integration.
  • Prepare and send invitations for team meetings, workshops, and relevant activities, and record and distribute minutes.
  • Assist with planning and organization of events, workshops, and team-related initiatives.
  • Contribute to internal newsletters and updates, highlighting team achievements and activities.
  • Collect and update information on fundraising activities, tracking proposal status and donor engagement.
  • Provide general and ad-hoc support as required by the team.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

 

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a master’s degree in social sciences, International Development, Business and Administration, Communications, Environmental Studies or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with online collaboration tools (Microsoft Teams; Zoom)
  • Familiarity with project management, prior experience with the management of specific projects would be considered an asset
  • Familiarity with project tracking or reporting tools is a plus (e.g. Microsoft Teams; Trello; Asana; Monday.com).
