Job Description

Every person has the right to live in safety, and yet domestic and family violence is a regular occurrence in Australia. Help us do our part to change this reality. 54 reasons is one of the largest providers of DFV refuge services in Queensland – be part of this dynamic network of teams working together to deliver high quality support.

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

A place where your purpose matters. Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve – in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.

It takes all types of personalities and talents to drive our organisation– yours included. We value a healthy work-life balance and ensure our people feel connected to each other and our impact. Learn from inspiring people and grow from a connection to our strong local and global networks. From our programs to our support services – this is the place to realise your purpose.

A place to make a difference:

In this full-time maximum-term position (until end of December 2025) based in Gold Coast, you’ll provide outreach case management support to women and children experiencing Domestic and Family Violence and/or homelessness because of DFV. Reporting to the Team Leader, you’ll work business hours Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

You will make a difference by:

  • Conducting risk assessments where Domestic and Family violence is identified
  • Developing strong networks and referral pathways to support desired outcomes
  • Collecting and recording information for the purpose of accountability, evaluation, and reporting

A place to feel valued:

You’re a passionate and confident family practitioner, with strong knowledge of domestic and family violence and how it impacts families and communities. You’re committed to making a positive change in the community and you work within a trauma-informed practice framework.

Bringing your best every day means having:

  • Experience working with women, children and young people who have experienced domestic and family violence
  • Knowledge of best practice, professional standards, and relevant research in the field of domestic and family violence
  • Demonstrated understanding of the ways in which cultural contexts influence practice approaches
  • Current valid driver’s licence
  • A Bachelor of Social Work, Psychology or relevant Human Service Qualification and/or significant experience working in a similar service

A place to belong:
