Duties and Responsibilities
Background: The services of an Individual Contractor (IC) are needed to provide meeting support to two “Josour” back-to-back meetings: (1) Policy Congress “From Learning to Earning: how can policies support young people transition into employment” (Cairo, 2-3 December 2024); (2) Round Table Discussion with Youth in Egypt (Cairo, 4 December 2024). Duties and Responsibilities: – Provide meeting support related to the above-mentioned two back-to back meetings. – Assist in the organization of Josour Congress on 2&3 December 2024. – Assist in the organization of the Josour Youth Workshop on the 4th of December 2024. – Support on-site event logistics, including setting up event spaces, managing registrations, coordinating audiovisual support, and addressing any unforeseen issues or emergencies that may arise during the two events. – Write the two short meeting reports – Write press releases and other information materials about the meetings – Perform other duties as requested.
Qualifications/special skills
A first level university degree in Media, Radio & Television or related area is required. All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. No years of professional work experience is required. Knowledge in content writing and edition is required.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA. For this position, fluency in Arabic is required and knowledge of English is required. Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.

Recruitment for this position is on a local basis. The incumbent is required to have the legal right to live and work in the specified working location.
