Description of the Assignment: National Team leader to conduct a Legal Study on International Experiences to Improve the Efficiency of Environment-Related Tort Damage Dispute Resolution

 

Period of assignment/services: Nov 2024 – Mar 2025

 

The objective of this assignment is to:

· Study international experiences and good practices to improve the efficiency of environment-related tort damage dispute resolution, with a particular focus on the calculation of damages and the various dispute resolution mechanisms (both judicial and non-judicial), compare these with the current legal framework of Viet Nam and draw lessons for Viet Nam.

· Propose recommendations to improve the efficiency of environment-related tort damage dispute resolution in Viet Nam.

UNDP shall effect payments to the consultant by bank transfer upon acceptance by UNDP of the deliverables specified the TOR. If two currencies exist, UNDP exchange rate will be applied at the day UNDP instructs the bank to effect the payment.
