The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Viet Nam is looking for 01 International Consultant to support A Legal Study on International Experiences to Improve the Efficiency of Environment-Related Tort Damage Dispute Resolution for the project “Achievement of SDGs indicators – PIP 2024-2025”, as described in this documentation.
UNDP, in collaboration with the Department of Civil and Economic Law, Ministry of Justice (DCEL), will conduct a Legal Study on International Experiences to Improve the Efficiency of Environment-Related Tort Damage Dispute Resolution. The goal is to enhance the efficiency of environmental-related tort damage dispute resolution in Viet Nam and to leverage existing knowledge to enhance the sustainability of environmental justice efforts within the country. The study will be conducted by a team consisting of two national consultants and one international consultant.
This procurement request is specifically to recruit the International Consultant to support this assignment. The overall objective of this assignment is to:
– Study international experiences and good practices to improve the efficiency of environment-related tort damage dispute resolution, with a particular focus on the calculation of damages and the various dispute resolution mechanisms (both judicial and non-judicial), compare these with the current legal framework of Viet Nam and draw lessons for Viet Nam.
– Propose recommendations to improve the efficiency of environment-related tort damage dispute resolution in Viet Nam.
Period of assignment/services: November 2024 – March 2025
