In coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the three provinces of Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, and Soc Trang, the Climate Change, Energy and Environment Unit of the UNDP in Viet Nam is implementing the Global Affairs Canada (GAC)-financed Viet Nam Climate-Smart Coastal Communities (VNCSCC) project between 2024 and 2030. The project aims to achieve the Ultimate Outcome of improved resilience to climate change of vulnerable coastal communities, particularly women, and enriched marine and coastal biodiversity in Viet Nam.
Currently, UNDP is seeking a National consultant to act as a part-time climate information consultant to support VN-CSCC project implementation with a focus on Intermediate Outcome 1100: Enhanced performance of government and vulnerable coastal communities, particularly women, to apply gender-responsive climate information and risk-informed planning for climate change adaptation with environmental co-benefits, in accordance with key project frameworks (Logic Model, Theory of Change, Gender Equality and Women Empowerment Strategy and Action Plan, and other relevant documents).
The National consultant will work closely with and under the guidance of UNDP Viet Nam. The assignment will be supervised by UNDP, specifically the Programme Management Specialist.
Duty Station: Home-based, UNDP office in Ha Noi, and travel to three project provinces (Thua Thien Hue, Binh Dinh, and Soc Trang).
Duration: 185 working days including travel days from 15 December 2024 – 15 January 2026.
