The Mexico Country Office has more than 200 colleagues who work for the promotion and protection of the rights of children in the country. The People and Culture team is located in Mexico City and provides support to colleagues in the central office, field offices and other remote locations, so eventual travel may be necessary.

How can you make a difference?

The People and Culture Officer (NO-1) will be a part of the People & Culture team of the Mexico Country Officer, under the leadership of the People & Culture Specialist (P-3). He/She will supervise the People and Culture Assistants (GS-5 and UNV) and will work on a broad range of functions, mainly: Diversity, Equity and Inclusion; Learning & Development; Talent Acquisition and Outreach; Staff Wellbeing.

Minimum requirements:

  • Education: A University Degree is required, preferably in the fields of human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology or another related field.
  • Work Experience: A University Degree is required, preferably in the fields of human resource management, business management, international relations, psychology or another related field.
  • Skills: HR Data Analysis, Talent Management, Project Management, Communication, Cultural Competence.
  • Language Requirements: Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Desirables:

  • Developing country work experience and/or familiarity with emergency.
  • Experience working with the UN System.
  • Experience leading and implementing Talent Development initiatives.

UNICEF appointments are subject to medical clearance. Issuance of a visa by the host country of the duty station is required for IP positions and will be facilitated by UNICEF.
