Mission and objectives
Established in 1951, IOM is the leading intergovernmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. With 174 member states, a further 8 states holding observer status and offices in over 100 countries, IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants. IOM works to help ensure the orderly and humane management of migration to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems and to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need, including refugees and internally displaced people. The IOM Constitution recognizes the link between migration and economic, social and cultural development, as well as to the right of freedom of movement. IOM works in the four broad areas of migration management: – Migration and development – Facilitating migration – Regulating migration – Forced migration. IOM activities that cut across these areas include the promotion of international migration law, policy debate and guidance, protection of migrants’ rights, migration health and the gender dimension of migration. Context
IOM Sudan’s Emergency Health program contributes to the humanitarian assistance in Sudan, in coordination and collaboration with Ministry of Health, Health and Nutrition cluster, as well as other partners. The presentation slide is to contribute to quality assurance of mobile clinic operation, in the context of cholera outbreak and acute displacement.
Task Description
We are looking for 1 Online Volunteers who support us with the development of a teaching/training curriculum and materials for the frontline healthcare workers in Sudan, in line with the SOP developed. To this end the selected Online Volunteers will work closely with Miration Health Officer (Emergencies) to complete the task as follows: – Determine teaching/training objectives – Develop powerpoint presentation for 3-5 days induction training for frontline healthcare workers, based on the already developed SOP. – Develop a teaching/training plan/programme including a schedule of sessions, exercises, and timelines – Develop an evaluation plan and tools for the training to measure its effectiveness – Develop a plan for supportive supervision. The selected Online Volunteers will be provided with background information and material needed to develop the curriculum. They will not be asked to participate in or conduct/implement the teaching/training.
