The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is committed to the principle that migration and society. Within the aforementioned framework, its activities include the identification, registration and assistance for the voluntary return of migrants living in vulnerable situations in Dominican territory and who voluntarily return to their country and restart their lives in dignified conditions.
The Project Associate – Climate Change will support the implementation of projects and programs related to climate change mitigation and adaptation:
• Assist in collecting data related to climate change projects, including gathering information from secondary sources and maintaining databases.
• Perform basic data analysis under supervision to support decision-making and track key indicators.
• Collaborate in drafting documents, brief reports, and presentations on project impacts, ensuring clarity and accuracy of technical information under supervision.
• Coordinate logistical aspects of events and meetings, including agenda management, invitations, and support materials.
• Support communication with attendees to facilitate information flow and contribute to the efficient organization of events.
• Participate in awareness activities by supporting logistics and material.
• Provide administrative support in document management, filing, and correspondence within the project.
• Assist in preparing basic financial reports, including monitoring expenses and monitoring efficient use of allocated resources.
• Collaborate in organizing training sessions under supervision for materials and basic technical assistance during activities.
• Assist in gathering and consolidating project monitoring data and preparing progress reports, with supervisor review.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education
• School diploma at least five (5) years of relevant experience; or,
• Bachelor’s degree in political or social sciences, Climate Change, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three (3) years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
• Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
• Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
Languages
- Spanish in English (oral and written).
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
