Time commitment:ꢀ3-6 months agreement (flexible to meet your needs)

Agreement type: Volunteer contract / Internship contract

 

Location: Ashoka Belgium’s office – Impact House, 20 Rue Joseph II, 1000 Brussels with

 

possibility of remote working.

 

 

Report to Romain Gustot, Ashoka Belgium Director, and working in collaboration with

 

team of teams in Ashoka Europe

 

OVERALL JOB DESCRIPTION

 

As part of our recent developments and new strategic focus, we are seeking a dedicated

 

volunteer to join us in researching and mapping the EU-level programs, consortium-building and

 

funding opportunities related to social entrepreneurship, social innovation, youth

 

empowerment and participative democracy.

 

The goal of this project is to better understand how Ashoka can access EU funding by identifying

 

opportunities, potential partners and suitable set-up. Your work will have a direct impact on

 

activating our relationship with the EU institutions and define how to position Ashoka Belgium

 

and Ashoka Europe in this framework.

 

This is a great opportunity to experience working in the not-for-profit/social entrepreneurship

 

sector and takeꢀon significant mission-driven responsibilities.ꢀ

 

MAIN ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

 

Map EU Programmes: Research and map EU-level programmes supporting social

 

entrepreneurship, social innovation, youth empowerment, and participative democracy.

 

Analyze EU Institutions: Study the structure and mechanisms of key EU institutions and

 

programmes to recommend suitable avenues for Ashoka’s engagement and

 

partnership-building.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Identify Key Funding Opportunities: Identify specific EU funding opportunities that

 

align with Ashoka’s mission and strategic focus, particularly around youth and social

 

innovation.

 

Research Potential Partners: Identify potential strategic partners, including NGOs,

 

think tanks, and EU-level networks, that could collaborate with Ashoka Belgium and

 

Ashoka Europe.

 

 

 

Report on Programming Cycles: Track and compile details of relevant EU programmes,

 

opportunities and partnership-building for Ashoka engagement.

 

OPTIONAL: Collaborate on Strategic Positioning: Work with the Ashoka team to define

 

Ashoka Belgium’s positioning within the EU social innovation and entrepreneurship

 

space.

 

 

 

OPTIONAL: Document Best Practices: Capture key insights from your research and

 

create guidelines or templates for Ashoka’s future EU funding and partnership efforts.

 

OPTIONAL: Present Findings: Deliver clear, actionable recommendations through

 

presentations and written reports to Ashoka’s leadership team for potential next steps

 

with EU funding strategies.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

 

We are looking for individuals with a passion for social entrepreneurship and the following

 

skills:

 

 

 

 

Interest in the Social Entrepreneurship Ecosystem: Familiarity with the social

 

entrepreneurship landscape, whether in Belgium or globally.

 

Knowledge of the EU funding landscape: past experience or keen interest on business

 

development with EU grants / tenders / call for projects.

 

Proficient with Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): Strong skills in Excel to

 

effectively handle data and contribute to the database creation.

 

 

 

No pre-defined seniority level, roles and responsibilities will be adapted accordingly.

 

Fluent in English; Proficient in French and/or Dutch is an advantage but not required.
