The UCO seeks an intern who can provide support for partnerships, convenings and events, and administrative responsibilities that enhance office operations

 

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand principles and practices of external collaboration
  • Develop project coordination skills related to convenings and events
  • Strengthen internal and external communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide support for convenings, events, and academic engagement programs, including the institutional visits to and from partner universities, the UNC Gillings PHield Trip, and programs that support regional collaboration, including the RTI University Scholars Program
  • Develop content for internal and external partnership and program materials, such as university relationship snapshots, slide decks, briefings, event blurbs, and announcements
  • Support various meetings and event logistics, including room set-up, conference call/Zoom arrangements, and development of meeting materials
  • Proactively collaborate with members of the team to prepare, organize, coordinate, and document office activity
  • Perform special projects, assignments, and tasks as needed

This hybrid paid internship will take place from January 2025 through May 2025. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 10 – 12 hours per week. Hours are flexible during business hours, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled as a second-year, junior or senior undergraduate student or graduate or professional student (master’s or PhD)
  • Ability to be on site at the Research Triangle Park campus periodically
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills – Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adjust priorities as office demands require

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with content management systems
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint
  • Superior writing skills; ability to craft professional email messages

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
