Context
Under the overall supervision of the Programme Manager (Site Management) in Lebanon and the direct supervision of the Senior Programme Associate (Site Management), the successful candidate will be responsible to support site management and coordination activities in Lebanon in the sites targeted by IOM SM programme and its partners
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Organize field team activities aimed at promoting the participation in site level activities of all IDP community groups.
- Help to keep appropriate permissions and communications with relevant government stakeholders maintained on IOM Site Management (SM) activities at a site level.
- Follow-up that logistical arrangements for Site Management Mobile teams, including schedules, vehicles, office arrangements are in place.
- Draft correspondence on project issues; prepare and update project reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
- Help maintain project records by ensuring the proper archival and organization of datasets and narrative drafts.
- Contribute to monitoring and evaluation efforts of the SM Program, including assisting in tracking key indicators for all the products and activities.
- Follow-up that administrative procedures for mobile SM teams are maintained.
- Respond to information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records; organize meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
- Participate in meetings and conferences; assist in coordinating implementation activities with local authorities, partners, United Nations agencies, intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, donors, and other stakeholders relevant to the project.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Education
- Completed High School from an accredited academic institution with five years of relevant professional experience. or,
- University degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with three years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations
- 3-5 years of professional experience in humanitarian aid operations, preferable in emergency and conflict environments
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
Skills
- In depth knowledge of the broad range of migration related subject areas dealt with by the Organization
- Computer/software literate, preferably advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, kobo toolbox, ODK and report writing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is an advantage
- Proved experience in conducting field research and preparing research reports
- Good knowledge of the migration context in Lebanon and the region
- A good knowledge of IOM’s mandate and activities is a distinct advantage.
Languages
For all applicants, fluency in Arabic and English is required (oral and written).
