Job Summary: Volunteers will contribute to identifying and verifying human rights concerns, such as electoral inclusivity, freedom of expression, and political participation. By summarising and analysing data from diverse sources, volunteers will support the creation of reports and visualisations that inform OHCHR’s reporting and advocacy efforts. This project provides a unique opportunity to support human rights monitoring remotely, offering volunteers exposure to open-source research and qualitative and quantitative analysis in a dynamic context.
We are looking for 5 online volunteers to support with the following tasks:
Monitor Media and Social Media: Review media outlets and social media platforms for information on public discourse and human rights concerns during the electoral process.
Validate and Complete Data: Address information gaps by verifying and synthesizing available data.
Summarize Information: Consolidate qualitative and quantitative information into concise summaries and insights.
Draft Analytical Reports: Prepare reports highlighting trends and key observations from the data gathered.
Adhere to Confidentiality Protocols: Ensure all data and findings are handled responsibly and securely.
Work Under Tight Deadlines: Manage tasks effectively to meet strict timelines as required.
Required Education Level: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Rights, Political Science, Information Management, Data Science, or related fields.
Area(s) of Specialisation Human Rights, Data Analysis, Social Science, Information Management.
Required Experience:
Prior experience in human rights monitoring, advocacy, or research is preferred.
Familiarity with Ghana’s political, cultural, and social landscape is an asset.
Experience with open-source intelligence, social media monitoring, and data validation is desirable. Proficiency in drafting reports and creating data visualisations is highly valued.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English. Knowledge of Ghanaian local languages, such as Twi, Ewe, or Dagbani, is preferred.
