Description of Organization: This position is located in the Office of the Assistant to the Administrator (AtA) in REFS. REFS is responsible for worldwide leadership and integrated technical expertise of the programming of USAID in agriculture-led growth and environmental sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Advisor will serve as a Program Officer for Food Security, undertaking the following duties and responsibilities:
The Senior Advisor provides guidance to the Office of the AtA on the Bureau’s global leadership and implementation of the whole-of-government Feed the Future (FTF) initiative and the agency’s global food crisis response. This includes: leading change management efforts across the Bureau to reimagine and optimize FTF; co-leading the cross-Bureau FTF Steering Committee; supporting engagement with Missions and key external stakeholders; and supporting new Bureau initiatives to select priority countries (such as the FTF Accelerator), implement portfolio reviews, and respond to new Administration priorities. The position supports the AtA and REFS Front Office in all matters relating to the strategy and implementation of the $1 billion FTF initiative, working in close partnership with all of the FtF Centers/Offices.
