The opportunity

  • Support the direct line manager in providing regular feedback to program managers regarding the status of their purchase requisitions on bi-weekly basis
  • Organize and prioritize purchases according to the nature of the request (urgent, small items, international purchases, services, etc) in accordance with procurement plans.
  • Support the direct line manager in ensuring that procurement staff at the PAs coordinate with departments/projects to ensure that the technical specifications and other details (including funding sources, delivery locations, etc) are included in requests before processing them through SAP
  • Receive and manage procurement requisitions in SAP and act on all outstanding issues.
  • Follow up on VAT and Duty exemption applications have been submitted for purchases where applicable. Follow up all applications to ensure timeliness
  • Periodically extract report P2P reports from SAP and report on the discrepancies where necessary as well as ensuring cleansing of data
  • Research and ensure that the vendor base is broadened as necessary and opportunities for discounts are followed up,
  • Prepare and maintain Contracts Database and monitor the renewal of contracts or new bidding process and advice the direct line manager on the actions to be undertaken in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with finance department to ensure that all the appropriate action (eg paid, cancelled, etc) is accounted
  • Prepare and conduct inventory of assets in the CO including recommendations for the disposal
  • Track and follow up with the Vodacom on communication renewal contracts, allocate mobile phones and keep an up to date list of custodians

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or relevant training in Logistics procedures and systems.
  • CIPS accreditation
  • Minimum (4) years of progressive NGO experience in procurement, contract management, administration or related area.
  • Experience in the procurement modules of any ERP.
  • Experience on VAT exemptions procedures and Knowledge of Mozambican Government procurement requirements.
  • Strong negotiation and networking skills.
  • Presentational skills and problem-solving prowess in a complex work environment is critical.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive manner.
  • Capability to coordinate and cooperate within interdisciplinary teams
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English
  • Knowledge of SAP

Location: Maputo

Type of Role: Full time – Permanent

Reports to: Supply Chain Manager

Grade: 14, (Pay range 1.662.651,72 a 1.930.821,36MT annual gross) Plan reserves the right to pay according to internal procedures.
