The Role

This role is pivotal in supporting ongoing studies, research, evaluations, and innovation undertaken through different projects implemented by PIB. The professionals will work closely with the Programme Quality and Innovation (PQI) team and contribute significantly to research, knowledge management and innovation activities. They will work closely with the PQI point person(s) and contribute to the organizational PQI activities conducted by PIB during their tenure. They will be based in the Bangladesh Country Office (BCO), with necessary travel to different working areas of PIB throughout the country during their tenure.

What we’re looking for

  • Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, anthropology, development studies, or related disciplines.
  • Essential: Strong understanding of qualitative research methodologies and experience in conducting qualitative data collection. The experience can be demonstrated through previous academic research experiences (i.e., thesis/dissertation, term papers, etc.).
  • Essential: Willingness to travel to project sites throughout Bangladesh for data collection and other tasks, as required.
  • Essential: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to present complex information clearly and concisely in both English and Bangla.
  • Essential: Experienced user of basic computer programmes (Microsoft Office – Excel, Word) and research tools, as well as internet/search engines.
  • Essential: Young (age must be within 20-26 years), motivated, ability to take initiative, work under pressure situation without losing composure and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Preferred: Understanding on Gender equality, feminist leadership, child rights, child protection, youth activism.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with data analysis software for qualitative data (e.g., NVivo, ATLAS.ti) is preferred.
