Mission and objectives
UNICEF SWZ organization mission TBD
Context
Voluntary contributions from private foundations, private companies, high net-worth individuals and philanthropists, bilateral development cooperation agencies, among others, are vital to fulfill UNICEF’s work at the country level. However, funding is often heavily earmarked for specific development areas, countries, and settings, some focusing on specific conflict and/or other humanitarian settings. To support the UNICEF Country Office enhance its capacity to identify, apply, and succeed in mobilizing the necessary resources to fulfill its mandate in Eswatini, the online volunteer will research and systematize on an excel workbook, a list of potential calls for applications to which UNICEF Eswatini would be eligible to apply. This workbook should include basic information about the potential donors, focus areas, requirements, timelines, and any available links to the necessary templates and forms that must be completed to apply. In addition, the online volunteer will draft and layout an “investment book” for UNICEF’s work on adolescence and youth development in Eswatini, with a focus on education, child protection, participation, and HIV/SRHR. The investment book must tell a compelling story of the current situation of adolescents and youth in Eswatini, informed by the latest data from the multiple- indicator cluster survey 2021-2022, and include proposed solutions by UNICEF, with a proposed cost. These solutions must differ in scope and modalities, providing potential donors with a myriad of options to invest in UNICEF’s work. The layout of the document, and the corresponding slide deck for public presentations, must be informed by UNICEF branding guidelines.
