Mission and objectives

Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (IICPSD) supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy for inclusive business, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. IICPSD, established in 2011 in partnership with the Government of Turkiye, is one of UNDP’s six Global Policy Centres. It leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all over the world. The Center focuses on four thematic areas: 1. Inclusive Business; 2. Private Sector Engagement in Skills Development; 3. Impact investing; 4. Resilience and Crisis Response. The Center also hosts four global initiatives: Business Call to Action, SDG Philanthropy Platform, Global Islamic Finance and Impact Investing Platform and Connecting Business Initiative.

Context

The online volunteers will participate in a Power BI training, 3 sessions an hour each, a Kobo toobox training, 3 to 5 sessions an hour each, a 5-day learning circle of low code/no code solutions development workshop, after that they will participate in the 2-day event to develop those solutions together with the other participants.

Task Description

Tech4R is an initiative of the SDG AI Lab that aim to develop digital solutions in disaster context that aim for disaster mitigation and resilience. The Low code no code initiative is part of the Tech4R project, where volunteers will first have trainings in tools that are usually used in disaster mitigation and management context, such as Power BI, Kobo Toolbox, and similar that do not require a lot if any coding experience, the volunteers will then be part of the Tech4R community and participate in trainings, workshops, events and activities. After the trainings the volunteers will be paired with different organization representatives, such as NGOs, private sector, government entities and UN agencies to develop digital solutions according to their actual needs.
