Position Objective
The Organizational Wellbeing specialist is responsible for leading and implementing a portfolio of HR initiatives that promote staff wellbeing and encourage healthier lifestyle choices at the workplace. S/he will collaborates across the Fund to align wellbeing initiatives with organizational goals, fosters a healthy work environment, and ensures employees have the tools and resources to thrive personally and professionally.

Purpose

  • Lead the development of GCF’s wellness program and its constant adaptation to the needs of the Fund and its people, the living conditions in the HQ country and in alignment with international best practices.
  • Identify opportunities of improvement to the programs on staff benefits related to staff wellbeing, health, employee assistance, work life balance, retirement plans etc. offered to the GCF’s workforce based on data and relevant market trends.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on wellbeing topics to employees and leadership.
  • Ensure alignment of wellbeing programs with GCF’s value and culture
  • Promote a workplace culture that prioritizes wellbeing and resilience through training, workshops, and communication campaigns.

Engagement

  • Advocate internally to inspire and educate GCF staff to embrace the organization’s corporate values, principles, and culture while fostering healthier, more sustainable lifestyles.
  • Collaborate with management and other HRBPs to map and address particular workplace environment, diversity and inclusion, health (mental or physical) issues that can challenge an individual or a team’s morale and productivity.
  • Enhance relationships with similar organizations to exchange information, understand their HR practices and take advantage of the lessons learnt.
  • Engage with external organizations to stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in workplace wellbeing.
  • Act as a liaison between leadership and employees to advocate for wellbeing priorities.

Delivery

  • Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and events focused on wellbeing and personal development.
  • Develop metrics and reporting tools to assess the effectiveness of wellbeing initiatives.
  • Optimize systems and procedures in HR key areas to evolve and maintain responsiveness of services to evolving client needs.
  • Build a network of specialists and vendors that can provide services needed by the staff and/or their families.
  • Deliver high-quality services according to standing applicable rules, in an equitable and transparent manner in order to provide an outstanding employee experience.

Requirements (Education, experience, technical competencies required of the job)

  • Master’s degree or higher in HR, Business/Public Administration or alternative relevant fields; or relevant Bachelor’s degree with 2 additional years of experience.
  • At least 9 years of relevant work experience in a similar role focused on employee wellbeing, engagement, or workplace culture. Strong understanding of wellbeing trends, mental health resources, and DEI principles.
  • Certifications such as corporate wellness specialist or worksite wellness specialist are a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential for this position; knowledge of another UN language an advantage.
  • Outstanding listening skills, motivational skills and empathy.
  • Be well organized, able to multitask and willing to collaborate with people of all backgrounds. S/he should be able to problem-solve and offer effective and flexible solutions.
