Job Purpose

 

Under the direction of IRRI Education’s Educational Technology and Knowledge Management Specialist/Online Learning Team Lead, the Officer – E-learning and Product Development Coordination will play a crucial role in facilitating the smooth development and deployment of digital learning and product development initiatives of IRRI Education. This includes coordination efforts with key stakeholders, internal teams, and external experts to ensure the successful development, implementation, and maintenance of cutting-edge e-learning programs and products of IRRI Education.

This position will be based at the IRRI Headquarters, Los Baños, Philippines and may only be filled by permanent citizens of the Philippines.

 

Roles and Responsibilities

 

  • With the guidance of the Edtech specialist/online learning team lead, collaborate with key stakeholders to conduct needs assessments for e-learning course development and other potential product offerings of IRRI Education
  • Provide and iteratively update protocol or guidelines for the development of e-learning courses on IRRI Education’s learning platform
  • Collaborate with the communications unit and liaise with other teams involved for the visual identity and branding for online courses
  • Under the guidance of IRRI Education head and online learning team lead, support in negotiation to finalize course details such as description, scope, methodologies, and budgetary requirements
  • Coordinate the design and development of the course in collaboration with the EdTech specialist, instructional designers, content developers, media developers, and subject matter expert(s) through the integration of a project management tool and development of a timeline outlining key milestones for the digital modules
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among instructional designers, content developers, and subject matter expert(s) to create comprehensive lesson plans by organizing content preparation meetings, design workshops, and project-related events
  • Manage the curation of learning materials by ensuring their alignment with course requirements. Offer instructional design support to the development team in refining course designs and storyboards using SCORM standards
  • Engage with the marketing and business development officers to support the promotion of e-learning initiatives of IRRI Education for its clients and prospect partners
  • Provide quality assurance of online learning content and oversee the vetting process, ensuring alignment with course standards and objectives
  • Provide support and coordination in organizing and managing multimedia and course authoring processes using relevant tools
  • Facilitate the setup and use of a project management tool aimed at overseeing the digitization of both past and present courses offered by IRRI Education
  • Support the facilitation of internal and external review, as well as alpha and beta testing of e-learning courses, actively seeking feedback from relevant stakeholders
  • Work with the EdTech specialist and media developers to lead the revision of SCORMs based on suggestions from reviews and testing
  • Identify and address any issues that arise during testing phases
  • Collaborate with the partner organizations, institutions, and units, facilitations team, online learning team lead, Learning Management Systems (LMS) admin, experts, partners, and stakeholders before and during the course implementation phase, ensuring all e-learning components (digital modules, LMS, and assessments) are set before launch
  • Coordinate and monitor implementation of the e-learning project
  • Report on progress and challenges to the IRRI Education head, online learning team, and other relevant stakeholders

 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor degree in Communication, IT, Multimedia or related field with 3 years of relevant work experience

  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office and Google Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Advanced knowledge of design and project management tools (Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Smartsheet, Trello, etc.)
