GIZ International Services is looking for a Team Leader (m/f/d) in the frame of the preparation for a participation in a tender “Municipal Infrastructure Development Programme (MIDP) – Project Preparation Facility Ukraine (PPF) 2025 – 2029”, funded by SECO.
Your tasks
As the team leader, key expert 1 will be the main contact person for SECO. The team leader is charged with the overall project management and institutional relations, in particular with Swiss stakeholders as well as with IFIs (including linking to finance activities). This position also entails the particular responsibility of developing co-financing investment measures (component 2) and supporting business networks (component 3) as well as ensuring adequate communication for stakeholders in Switzerland.
Your profile
General Qualifications and skills
- Master’s degree (for national key expert: minimum bachelor’s degree) in engineering, public procurement, architecture, or similar relevant discipline.
- Proficiency in English language.
General professional experience:
- Solid knowledge of the technical solutions and approaches practiced in Switzerland in one of the five prioritized thematic sectors: energy-efficiency (e.g. in buildings, district heating), renewable energy, public transport (urban and agglomeration), urban water supply and wastewater management.
- 5 years of experience with Switzerland based private sector and Swiss based business networks related to urban infrastructure. Working knowledge of Swiss-Ukrainian business networks is an advantage.
- 5 years of experience in working with Swiss municipalities related to infrastructure projects.
- 10 years of experience in some of the following fields, energy-efficiency (e.g. in buildings, district
heating), renewable energy, public transport (urban and agglomeration), urban water supply and
wastewater management). - 7 years of experience in international project management in transition or development countries related to basic municipal infrastructure in some of the following fields, complementary to the expertise of key experts 2 and 3: energy-efficiency (e.g. in buildings, district heating), renewable energy, public transport (urban and agglomeration), urban water supply and wastewater management).
Specific professional experience:
- 7 years of experience in leadership field positions. Experience with projects of IFIs as well as experience with SECO- or SDC-financed projects is an advantage.
- 3 years of experience in managing multidisciplinary teams in politically sensitive environments (experience in war / post-conflict settings is an advantage).
- Experience in managing at least 2 similar projects in a country on the OECD-DAC List of ODA Recipients.
- Working experience in Ukraine, Eastern Europe, Western Balkans or Central Asia is an advantage.
Location information
The project will be implemented mainly in Ukraine. The Team Leader is foreseen to be located in Switzerland.
