Purpose of the role
NRC is grant holder for various consortium projects in Lebanon, funded by EU/ECHO and other European donors. Each requires coordination between members agencies, their staff and the various donor(s). A Consortium Manager is the senior manager responsible for overall oversight and accountability, and is supported by a Project Assistant. The Project Assistant will provide administrative and operational support to the Consortium Manager and CMU (Consortium Management Unit). The position focuses on supporting project implementation, grant management, coordination efforts, and compliance processes within the consortium framework. Responsibilities include managing documentation, assisting with report preparation, and coordinating logistics for meetings and workshops. As such, it is a polyvalent role of diverse tasks and responsibilities, responding flexibly to the specific needs of the consortium within which the position works.
What you will do
- Assist in coordinating and implementing project activities as per strategy, proposals, and plans.
- Provide support in preparing proposals and reports to donors and the regional office.
- Ensure proper filing and organization of project documents.
- Support adherence to NRC policies and donor requirements.
- Assist in maintaining detailed activity and work plans.
- Facilitate collaboration with partners and relevant stakeholders.
- Help in the development and writing of research and policy papers.
- Contribute to the preparation of progress reports and related documentation.
Specifically, you will;
- Provide administrative support for the development of funding proposals, budgets, and reports.
- Assist in preparing and formatting internal and external reports.
- Support the creation and updating of tools and templates for proposals and reporting processes.
- Help monitor progress on activity plans and flag delays to the Consortium Manager.
- Maintain and organize consortium records, agreements, and project documents.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, and events, including scheduling, venues, and communication with participants.
- Take and disseminate meeting minutes and follow up on action points.
- Manage and organize donor and partner communication materials, such as concept notes and program factsheets.
- Support team in literature reviews and collection of publications to inform research.
- Attend inter-agency working group meetings and provide updates.
- Facilitate donor visits, including logistical arrangements and agenda preparation.
- Serve as the focal point for basic due diligence processes and communications between consortium members.
- Assist in ensuring donor and internal compliance requirements are met.
- Conduct literature review research on specific topics in accordance with the research agenda
Professional competencies
Generic professional competencies for this position:
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in administrative or project support roles.
- Familiarity with coordination, reporting, and compliance tasks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
