We are currently recruiting Deputy Country Director – Field Coordination & Emergency Response to join our Sudan team.
This is an office-based position in Sudan.

About the Opportunity
The Sudan Deputy Country Director – Field Coordination and Emergency Response will play a pivotal role in coordinating with various stakeholders, including government authorities, state HAC, security agencies, and conflicting parties, to ensure the seamless implementation of projects and the timely delivery of supplies to field locations.
Your Responsibilities
This role includes the following responsibilities:
Emergency Preparedness and Response – Lead the development and implementation of emergency preparedness teams and plans, ensuring readiness to respond to natural disasters, conflict-related displacements, and other crises, Coordinate rapid assessments, Mobilize resources and Engage with state-level authorities and humanitarian coordination bodies to ensure alignment and collaboration in emergency response efforts.
Stakeholder Coordination and Representation – Building and maintaining strong relationships with conflicting parties, government authorities, and also representing the organization at external forums
Operational Oversight and Support – Ensuring that project commitments and providing support team to address administrative, security, access, and HR-related challenges, ensuring smooth operations in each field office
Access Facilitation and Program Expansion – Facilitating access and supporting new geographical expansion
Leadership and Management – Supervising Area Managers, Ensuring effective remote management and Overseeing key support functions
Strategic Guidance and Advisory Role – Advising the Deputy Country Director for Programs and the Country Director on program expansion opportunities, access challenges, and operational strategies.
Diplomacy and Negotiation – Exercising political acumen and exceptional negotiation skills to navigate Sudan’s complex operating environment.
Delivery and Implementation – Regularly assess progress and develop and promote mechanisms for adaptive management
Safety and Security – Monitor security dynamics, provide real-time updates also Support Security and Access Manager to develop contingency plans
State Government Representation – Serving as the primary point of contact for state government authorities, including HAC and other relevant
Compliance – Ensure strict adherence to organizational and donor compliance requirements in all aspects
Partnerships – Cultivate, manage, collaborate, support and strengthen all relationships with local partners, including NGOs, CBOs, and community leaders
