The position is based in Ukraine, Kyiv, with a temporary relocation to Warsaw.

Purpose of Job:

The Analyst is a member of the Ukraine country team, playing a pivotal role in supporting the Bank’s policy development and reform implementation support efforts. This role involves preparing presentations, coordinating inputs, and providing comprehensive updates on various sectors, companies, political and economic developments, as well as ongoing policy reforms initiatives in key sectors of the Ukrainian economy. The Analyst will also assist in the preparation, management, and monitoring of technical cooperation (TC) projects and policy initiatives within the Regional Office (RO) team and while working in close coordination with other departments.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and coordinate inputs for presentations, updates, speaking and briefing notes to effectively communicate policy developments to management and stakeholders.
  • Compile summaries and updates on key sectors, companies, political and economic developments, and reform progress.
  • Coordinate collection of operational and policy updates across the Bank to ensure cohesive implementation across the portfolio of initiatives.
  • Prepare and update steering briefs and presentations for management and board directors, highlighting progress in EBRD’s policy dialogue and key policy issues.
  • Assist with design, management and monitoring of TC projects, including preparation of terms of reference and other internal approval documentation to support policy dialogue initiatives. Assist with organising events and workshops as part of EBRD’s TC projects implementation. Liaise with external stakeholders and consultants as required.
  • Support the coordination of policy initiatives within the RO team and collaborate with other teams and departments to promote integrated policy initiatives development.
  • Participate in the coordination and implementation of policy-related events, meetings, reports, and updates as required.
  • Conduct background research on sectors, regulatory and other policy developments. Prepare briefings, presentations, and short sector analyses.
  • Maintain and manage relevant datasets.
  • Under the guidance of the line manager and senior bankers, will communicate with other internal units, client counterparts and other stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, public policy, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in policy analysis, economic research, or a related fields.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical, research and quantitative skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in computer software, including data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, meeting deadlines and under time pressure.
  • Strong organizational, project- and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in the Ukrainian language is required.
