This is a Fixed-term contract funded through extra-budgetary trust funds. The duration will differ depending on the relevant trust fund, subject to availability of funds and incumbent’s level of performance.

The Secretariat of the WTO is seeking to fill a position of e-Learning and Audio-visual Coordinator in the e-Learning Unit of the Institute for Training and Technical Cooperation.

This is a fixed-term contract funded through extrabudgetary trust funds. The duration will be one year with the possibility of extension up to maximum four years, subject to availability of funds and incumbent’s level of performance.

General Functions

Under the supervision of the Head of Unit, the e-Learning and Audio-visual Coordinator will undertake the following duties:

Multimedia Development

  • Contribute to the design, integration, and updating of diverse multimedia elements in e-Learning courses, such as interactive exercises, screen recordings, and serious games, to upgrade course content and enhance engagement and effectiveness.
  • Assist in creating multimedia components for virtual classrooms, e-Learning communities, and webinars.
  • Support in developing promotional materials, including infographics, trailers, and invitations for live session, to increase participants engagement and awareness.

Video and Audio Production

  • Operate professional video and audio equipment and use industry-standard editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Audition, Final Cut Pro) to produce high-quality video content for e-Learning courses, including recording, editing, and post-production.
  • Optimize videos for search engines by setting up appropriate formats, captions, and metadata.
  • Track and analyse video performance metrics to generate insights for improvement.

Additional contributions

  • Assist with uploading and testing e-Learning courses and modules to ensure quality, functionality, and usability.
  • Support the e-Learning webmaster in managing the e-Learning Help Desk services in English, French, and Spanish.
  • Participate in other ITTC projects as appropriate.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Completed secondary education is required.

A diploma in video/audio production, cinematography, graphic design, information technology, or a related field is desired.

Knowledge and Skills:

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficiency with video/audio production tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Audition, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Camtasia) and design/animation software (e.g., Canva, Illustrator, Photoshop, Animaker, Vyond).
  • Skilled in using video and audio production equipment, including lighting and sound.
  • Strong post-production skills, including digital video editing and motion graphics.
  • Familiarity with Search Engine Optimization practices for video content and video analytics for performance tracking.
  • Understanding of instructional design principles for e-Learning courses, graphic design, and adult learning strategies.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems, particularly Moodle, is desirable; programming knowledge and familiarity with 360-degree video are assets.

Work Experience:

A minimum of five years’ experience in multimedia production, preferably within an adult learning or e-Learning context, is required.

Experience in an international or multicultural environment is desired.

Languages:

Fluency in English and working knowledge of either French or Spanish is required.

Should the successful candidate hold a regular or fixed-term contract under the regular WTO budget, the contractual status shall be changed to a one or two-year fixed-term contract in accordance with the contractual arrangement set out in the vacancy notice.

The WTO may use various communication technologies such as video or teleconference for the assessment and evaluation of candidates. The recruitment process may also involve the use of various forms of testing, assessment centres, interviews and reference checks.
