Work for the IMF. Work for the World.
The Statistics Department (STA) of the IMF, and the IMF’s Middle East Regional Technical Assistance Center (METAC), have an opening for a Real Sector Statistics Advisor (RSSA) based in Beirut, Lebanon. * The RSSA will oversee and undertake capacity development support in real sector statistics in 14 countries (Afghanistan, Algeria, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, West Bank & Gaza, and Yemen) and regional agencies covered by the Center. The RSSA’s initial appointment would be for a period of one year with the possibility for extension up to three years, contingent on performance, ongoing budget/business need, and management approval.
* Currently Lebanon is considered a high-risk location and METAC’s international staff have been temporarily evacuated. If the evacuation is still in place at the start of the assignment, there is a possibility that the assignment might start either remotely or in a third-country location.

- CD activities to high-risk location (HRL) member countries (HRL levels 2 and 3) will be dealt with using virtual missions or held offsite in third-country locations.
The RSSA will work under the general direction of the METAC Director and the technical direction of STA at IMF headquarters. He/she should expect to travel within the region and to interact frequently with country authorities, including remotely.
