What we are looking for

We are looking for candidates with a background and experience in support or operations management with solid knowledge of logistics, procurement, HR, and finance functions within humanitarian/ recovery context.

Knowledge and experience in project implementation.

What you will do

The Area Support Manager is a critical senior leader in the NRC Jordan Camps Area Office. Based in Azraq and Zaatari camps, the role is responsible for all support functions (HR, Logistics, and Finance) in the Camps Area Office.

Responsible for supporting a portfolio of roughly USD 6m, the Area Support Manager is a member of the Area Management Group and is responsible for supporting the Area Manager in delivering the area-level strategy and action plans.

Working closely with the Head of Support in Amman, the Area Support Manager ensures that all support functions operate to maximum efficiency and effectiveness and takes the lead on implementing all area-level strategic initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Member of the Area Management Group.
  • Provide input on operational support to the Area Plan of Action. Co-ordinate and align operational support with program plans at the Area level, ensuring procurement plans, HR plans, and spending plans for each project are in place, ensuring quality support to project implementation.
  • Responsible for support resource allocation at the area level in line with Master Budget and available donor budgets and driving optimization of operational costs initiative at the area level.
  • Contribute to strengthening the CO and Area level implementation through the creation of relevant SOPs and procedures.
  • Compliance with and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and handbooks and donor/auditor requirements.
  • Responsible for implementation of new country specific technical SOPs, guidelines and tools in the Area (HR, Logistic and Finance).
  • Oversee implementation of identified risk mitigation measures, including compliance spot checks in line with anti-corruption risk mapping.
  • Responsible for developing regular reports at Area level to Country Office and AM.
  • Line management and capacity building of support staff on Finance, HR & Admin and Logistics

What you will bring

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a management position as a Support/Operation Manager in a humanitarian/ recovery context.
  • Solid knowledge of Logistic and procurement, HR, and finance routines in a humanitarian context.
  • Experience in the implementation of humanitarian projects/programs.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, independently, and with limited supervision.

What we offer:

  • Duty station: Azraq & Zaatari Camps.
  • Contract: Until Dec 2025. Renewal based on funding and performance.
  • Travel: N/A, only when required in Amman office.
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s Jordan national salary scale, with accompanying terms and conditions
