JOB DESCRIPTION

What we are looking for:

NRC USA is looking for an experienced Foundations Adviser to manage a portfolio of partnerships and develop a pipeline of new partners through grants and pro bono opportunities. The role requires a results-driven individual who can achieve their objectives while collaborating with the team on joint initiatives. The adviser will report to a line manager and a technical line manager, working to strengthen and expand private sector fundraising efforts within the Global Private Sector Relations Section and the NRC USA DC office.

What you will do:

  • Conduct US market analysis, mapping and research.
  • Monitor and evaluate fundraising income, activities and costs.
  • Develop and conduct compliance procedures and due diligence/vetting on potential partners.
  • Produce communications and visibility regarding US corporate partnerships.
  • Cultivate new private sector partnerships and manage active relationships with partners, through different approaches such as grants and pro bono services with required return of investment.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to drive partnership growth activities.
  • Contribute to implementing NRC’s fundraising strategy.
  • Give training and support to the organization’s staff.
  • Any other tasks and responsibilities falling under the section’s mandate, as instructed by line and technical manager
  • Track and manage private organization related data through NRC CRM tools
  • Support technical lead on implementation of unit strategy.

What you will bring:

  • Minimum 3 years of documented relevant experience within marketing, business development, sales or other relevant professional qualifications
  • Documented professional knowledge of the private corporate sector market in the US
  • Documented results related to strategic relationship building, partnerships and networking
  • Documented abilities to simultaneously manage numerous tasks, project schedules and documents
  • Demonstrated excellent communication skills
  • Experience in contributing to developing and implementing fundraising and market strategies and activities
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and collaborate with colleagues at all levels, both internally and externally, to build a consistent global NRC identity.
  • Experience from professional liaisons with HNI, philanthropy donors and foundations
  • Communication skills to build bridges between the corporate industry and the humanitarian sector
  • Experience working with stakeholders across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Interest in humanitarian and displacement issues an advantage.
  • Experience from marketing, events, fundraising and/or project management.
  • Analytical Skills.

What we offer:

  • Duty station: Washington DC, USA.
  • Contract: 1 year.
  • Travel: Up to 5%
  • Salary/benefits: Grade 8 on NRC’s International salary scale depending on qualifications, with accompanying terms and conditions
