Role and Responsibilities
This internship offers an excellent opportunity for students or recent graduates to gain practical experience in protection work, specifically in addressing issues related to protection from violence. The intern will assist in a variety of tasks within the Protection from Violence department, working closely with the team to support community-based protection activities, ensure the safety and dignity of individuals, and contribute to the documentation and monitoring of protection cases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting assessments and intake interviews with individuals affected by violence or at risk, in line with protection protocols.
- Support in documenting protection cases and provide updates on cases under follow-up, ensuring that all sensitive data is handled with strict confidentiality.
- Contribute to data entry and reporting, ensuring that all protection-related activities are properly recorded and analyzed.
- Assist in organizing and facilitating awareness sessions and training workshops on protection issues, including gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, and other related topics.
- Support in the implementation of community outreach activities aimed at increasing awareness and providing information on protection services.
- Provide logistical and administrative support during field visits, protection assessments, and related activities.
- Collaborate with the Protection team to monitor and follow up on protection cases, providing relevant assistance to individuals in need.
- Support in organizing Focus Group Discussions (FGD) and community meetings to discuss protection concerns and ensure community participation.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation on protection activities and observations, summarizing key findings and progress.
- Adhere to NRC standards for ethical service delivery, data confidentiality, and safeguarding principles.
- Other Duties: Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor to support the protection program and project operations.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Recent graduate with a degree in law, social sciences, international relations, or a related field. Preference is given to candidates with higher academic achievements.
- Basic knowledge of protection principles and human rights issues, particularly related to violence, gender-based violence, and child protection.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team and collaborate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Interested in working within the humanitarian sector and contributing to protection and violence prevention initiatives.
- Fluency in English is required.
