Mission and objectives
The Regional Bureau for Arab States (RBAS) based in New York serves as the headquarters for UNDP regional programmes and country offices in 17 Arab countries, with the 18th located in the occupied Palestinian territory. The Bureau is headed by Abdallah EL Dardary, UNDP Assistant Administrator and Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Arab States.
Context
This assignment is part of a broader effort by the UNDP Regional Bureau for the Arab States (RBAS) to strengthen youth engagement and collaboration across the MENA region. With youth playing a pivotal role in driving social and environmental change, this initiative aims to map data on youth coalitions, highlighting their networks, focus areas, and capacities. The insights gained from this mapping will inform future interventions, fostering stronger partnerships and creating an enabling environment that empowers youth to contribute effectively to regional development and policy-making processes.
Task Description
We are looking for 4 Online Volunteers who, will support the mapping of data on youth Coalition in the Arab region. Specifically, the Online Volunteer will be responsible for: – Developing or identifying a methodology for data mapping based on the defined objectives. – Conducting data profiling on selected data sources. – Screening sources for relevant data. – Mapping data using the identified mapping tool. The Online Volunteers will have the opportunity to build connections with the Youth Regional Team at UNDP RBAS and gain insights into how data can support enhancing regional entrepreneurship or supporting youth-led initiatives.
