JOB PURPOSE
The Software/Database Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating database solutions and software applications to support BNP’s (Benazir Nashonuma Programme) daily operations. This includes facilitating data exchange with internal and external stakeholders and enhancing the decision-making process.
The professional is seconded to BISP, working with Project Management Unit (PMU), and reports operationally to the IT Solution Developer Team Lead and technically to the Nutrition Unit’s Information Management Officer at WFP.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
1. Design and implement complex database models that align with business requirements.
2. Create and manage tables, indexes, views, and other schema objects in Exadata.
3. Analyze and optimize SQL queries to ensure high performance, particularly in a distributed Exadata environment.
4. Develop and optimize PL/SQL code, stored procedures, triggers, and functions.
5. Implement and manage partitioning strategies to enhance performance on large datasets.
6. Develop scripts for data migration and ETL processes using DBs/tools such as MySQL, Oracle, or Oracle GoldenGate.
7. Design and maintain data replication and synchronization across systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
8. Create professional dashboards and provide support for optimizing dashboard infrastructure performance.
9. Translate conceptual data models into physical database structures with expertise in data modeling.
10.Provide technical support to team members and collaborate to achieve software development and implementation goals.
11.Write complex database queries in a big data environment with hands-on expertise.
12.Offer training and mentoring to team members on effective data utilization and respond to related queries.
13.Design, develop, and implement system and software technical specifications following organizational infrastructure and guidelines.
14.Design databases with integrated security features to safeguard data, pre-test databases for analysis, and produce actionable reports.
15.Maintain databases as required and generate reports for various analyses and presentations.
16.Provide technical assistance to team members, fostering collaboration to complete development and implementation tasks.
17.Support and provide evidence for audit-related activities.
18.Assist in payment-related matters and integration with financial institutions.
19.Support the PMU team and WFP Nutrition team in report generation and capacity building.
20.Create professional documentation for existing and new systems.
21.Perform any other tasks as assigned by the reporting manager or as required in a team environment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education:
First level university degree in Computer Sciences, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related field. Preference will be given to graduates from HEC approved top ranking local and foreign recognized universities.
Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of experience in software/database design or Systems Engineer on enterprise level projects in organizations preferably CMMI certified and roll out for health development projects

General Service (Field): Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Urdu.
