Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 800 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Economic Recovery Officer (Entrepreneurship and Employment Development Officer) for its activities in Mykolaiv.
This position will be line managed by the Economic Recovery Team Leader.
About the job
Under the supervision of the Economic Recovery Team Leader, the Economic Recovery Officer (Entrepreneurship and Employment Development Officer) will be responsible for coordinating and managing the implementation of economic recovery activities aimed at supporting urban households, small and medium-sized businesses, and developing urban value chains. This includes, but is not limited to:
The Economic Recovery Officer (Entrepreneurship and Employment Development Officer) will work closely with communities, NGOs, and government institutions to implement the Economic Recovery Department’s program portfolio. The position is based in the DRC office in Mykolaiv, with travel to Mykolaiv and Kherson regions.

About you
To be successful in the role of Economic Recovery Officer (Entrepreneurship and Employment Development Officer), you are expected to ensure quality planning, implementation, and monitoring of all technical aspects of DRC’s sectoral activities. Additionally, you should develop and maintain strong relationships with affected populations, relevant stakeholders, and other humanitarian organizations, ensuring proper coordination and implementation of DRC sectoral activities. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for national staff.
