Result of Service
The consultant will be providing substantial assistance in implementation of the Global Programme on Gender. Moreover, the consultant is sought to provide coordination and facilitation to the development of a dedicated Gender-Responsive Leadership Training for the UNOV/UNODC middle and senior management.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Consultant will apply knowledge of gender issues and communication skills in contributing to the implementation of the Global Programme on Gender. Specifically, to support the development of a comprehensive, systematic approach to gender equality for UNOV/UNODC. The consultant will work with the Office of the Director-General/Executive Director (ODG/OED), United Nations Office at Vienna/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNOV/UNODC), Gender Team. Under the overall guidance of the Chief of ODG/OED and Strategy Advisor to the Executive Director, and reporting to the Programme Coordinator (Gender) as first reporting officer and to the Programme Officer (Gender) as second reporting officer.
Qualifications/special skills
An advanced university degree in Law, Social Studies, Gender Studies, or in a field related to human rights and/or gender is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience at the international level, in the field of gender equality and women’s empowerment, criminal justice, legal affairs, and international relations Knowledge of key normative frameworks for the promotion of gender equality and women’s empowerment, including but not limited to the UN System-wide Strategy on Gender Parity, 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women, and the Women, Peace, and Security agenda, UN System-wide Action Plan (UN-SWAP) on Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women Work experience in facilitating training on gender and UNODC mandate areas Work experience in communications such as website design and content creation (including but not limited to drafting web stories, designing posters, banners, quote cards, and graphics) Experience in assisting external communication with multiple stakeholders (including Member States and civil society organizations)
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage. Knowledge of Spanish is desirable.
