JOB DESCRIPTION
Result of Service
The Gender Consultant will support the Gender Section within the Protection Division in advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment across the organization’s programs and projects.

Expected duration
• The duration of the consultancy is 6 months (1 Feb 2025 to 31 July 2025). • The consultant will be remunerated based on the satisfactory deliverables of the agreed activities. • The consultant will be paid the lump sum of JOD4,260.00 (JOD710.00 per month), split into six instalments as described above upon satisfactory submission of the deliverables.
Duties and Responsibilities
– 1st February – 30th April: Under the supervision of the head of the Gender section, supports the research and drafting of gender equality reports, documents, and briefings for internal and external stakeholders, summarizing gender activities, achievements, and challenges across UNRWA’s five fields of operation. This includes data collection, trend analysis, and providing recommendations to inform future programming. – 1st February – 30th April: Conduct gender analysis for ongoing and upcoming projects as requested. – 1st May – 31st July: Support integration of gender mainstreaming in humanitarian principles initiatives. – 1st May – 31st July: Assist in the development and delivery of training materials on gender mainstreaming for staff and partners and support the organization of workshops, seminars, and other events related to gender equality. – 1st May – 31st July: Assist in the development of gender-sensitive M&E frameworks and provide input into the gender-related sections.
Qualifications/special skills
• A two-years diploma in business, accounting, gender studies, office practices, or a related field. Equivalency may apply for this post. NB: Work experience alone or formal qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an acceptable combination. • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in business, accounting, or gender. • Strong organizational and communication skills. • Previous experience in engaging men and boys in gender equality initiatives and activities will be considered a strong asset. • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
Languages
• Excellent command of spoken and written English.
