JOB DESCRIPTION

Applications are welcome from internal and external candidates.   • Assist with the coordination and implementation of M&E activities according to programme and project objectives, in close coordination with the Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Associate and relevant projects’ staff
  • Support data collection – guaranteeing data protection principles – in liaison with the different project staff, using various methodologies and tools including surveys, interviews, focus groups, among others
  • Support the development of customized data collection tools and M&E plans
  • Assist in the design and development of new M&E tools (e.g. dashboards)
  • Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics
  • Compile and update data for reporting, in line with the M&E plans and agreed IOM’s reporting guidelines, schedules and support coordination with the IOM Regional Office in Vienna and other relevant offices for compliance with policies and procedures
  • Support identification and compilation of key results and success stories, in coordination with Senior Monitoring and Evaluation Associate and projects’ staff
  • Draft status reports and conduct field visits related to M&E activities as required, identifying shortfalls in delivery and bringing them to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations, and other forms of documentation.
  • Adhere to the confidentiality principles defined within the guidelines of IOM, including IOM Data Protection Principles (IN/138); IOM Project Handbook; and internal monitoring and evaluation instructions and guidelines, especially IN/31 (Rev.1) and IN/266.
  • Support the delivery of capacity building interventions for IOM and partner teams on M&E related topics.
  • Support the PSU in planning and organizing meetings, workshops, events, dialogues and/or consultations
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Education
  • High School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law, Communications or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
  • Experience in monitoring & evaluation and reporting is required.
  • Experience in assisting with data management, including collection, storing, processing and analyzing data to generate information products is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with data visualization tools is a strong advantage
  • Experience in working with vulnerable populations is a strong advantage
  • A very good understanding of the local socio-political context of BiH and processes and programs aimed at improving social cohesion is an advantage
  • Experience working with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government organizations in a multicultural setting is an advantage.
Skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English and local languages
  • Detailed-oriented
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation concepts and methods
  • Familiarity with Excel, Kobo, and similar data collection and analysis software
  • Participative data collection techniques, including surveys, interviews and focus group discussions
  • Knowledge of UN and bilateral donor programming
Languages
  • Fluency in English and Bosnian/Serbian/Croatian (oral and written).
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
