Your impact in this role:

As Team Leader – User Applications and Services you will:

• Lead a talented team of developers, fostering an innovative and collaborative environment.
• Oversee the implementation of interactive user applications and services and the development of high impact visualisation tools.
• Drive innovation in user interaction, ensuring intuitive access to ECMWF’s vast data resources.
• Manage projects procured externally under sub-contracts to achieve high quality delivery for ECMWF.
• Collaborate with internal teams, Member States, and external stakeholders to deliver top-tier services.
• Stay ahead of technological advancements, ensuring ECMWF maintains its world-leading position in global weather prediction.

Your background and experience:

In selecting the candidate for this role we’ll be looking for:

• An advanced degree (or equivalent professional experience) in computer science, engineering, computational science, physics, or a related field.
• Proven experience developing software, leading development teams or projects and delivering large-scale, user-facing web applications.
• Strong knowledge of UI/UX design, data visualization, and accessibility standards.
• Experience with Agile development and project management.
• Experience in and motivation to manage people, projects, services or operations.
• Familiarity with scientific or meteorological data is a plus but not required.
• Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of French or German is an advantage.
