Area of activity
The Asia Regional Team of the International Services Division of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH offers a six-month internship.
During the internship, you will support the Asia Team in the day-to-day business of the GIZ International Services (InS) division. In addition to working for the German Federal Government as part of bilateral development cooperation, GIZ also works for numerous international clients. Through its International Services division, GIZ offers its experience and expertise as a service on the international market. The Asia Team of GIZ International Services implements projects for the EU, the World Bank, and other donors on a variety of topics. During the preparation and tender process, projects are placed either in close coordination with the donors (direct commissioning) or in competition with other organizations. If the contract is awarded, the projects are implemented. In the Asia region, the team is currently implementing projects in the areas of environment/climate, energy, trade promotion, vocational training, and sustainable supply chain management.
Your tasks
During your internship, you will support the Asia team in project management and the acquisition of new projects.
Your tasks include:
- Support in the preparation of offers and prequalifications in the tendering business
- Thematic research and information processing for internal purposes
- Market research
- Project management support for ongoing projects
- Research and management of project references
- Support in the preparation of expert missions
- Administrative and organizational support
The internship offers the opportunity to take on tasks independently in a small international team and to gain broad insight into the structures of GIZ and the management of consulting projects in partner countries as well as donor procurement processes in development cooperation.
Your profile
- From the 3rd semester onwards, you will study in an area with a social or economic science background
- Interest in the connection between development cooperation and economic efficiency Relevant international experience in the region (for example in the form of internships) is desirable
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills (Spanish skills are a plus)
- Confident use of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams) Organizational talent and quick comprehension
- Interest in working independently
