Your tasks
As an intern, you will work in the areas of communications and project management. Your main responsibilities include supporting the “Cooperations” team. This includes, among other things, specialist communications and networking events, advising on public relations inquiries, and internal GIZ communications. A focus here is on website and social media activities. In project management, you will support the implementation of our “Due Diligence Fund” funding competition, for example, in the project selection process and the preparation of learning experiences.
You will support us and independently take on the following tasks from our daily business:
You will research, write, and edit texts for internal and external communications, primarily the website www.sustainable-supply-chains.org and the monthly newsletter, and write social media posts, especially for LinkedIn.
You will support collaborations with external service providers and the production of information materials.
You will support the selection process for the Due Diligence Fund, including evaluating project proposals and supporting applicants. You will also help to process learning experiences from completed projects. You
will prepare minutes and assist in the creation of PowerPoint presentations, as well as in the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of meetings and events.
You will also support the Cooperations team in organizing a training course on sustainable agricultural supply chains.
You will be involved in day-to-day business and will learn about the administrative and organizational processes, structures and working methods of SASI and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
Your profile
You are studying for a Master’s degree in political science, communications, social sciences or another relevant course, or you graduated less than six months ago
You have gained initial experience in communications, public relations and/or project management through internships or further training and would now like to apply this in the context of international cooperation
Initial personal experience in a BMZ partner country (e.g. through study trips, semesters abroad, internships or voluntary service) is an advantage
You enjoy designing meaningful presentations and enjoy editing and proofreading texts. Your writing style is confident and easy to understand. You also have initial experience in event organization and in social media management and content creation
You have knowledge of or a keen interest in the topics of corporate responsibility and sustainability, agricultural supply chains and sustainable agriculture, supply chain management and commodity trading
You have a very good command of German and fluent English. Knowledge of Spanish and/or French is an advantage.
Personally, you are characterized by a friendly, open-minded demeanor, proactive action, team spirit and the ability to work under pressure.
You are always very well organized, have a confident command of the MS Office package, work carefully and are willing to quickly familiarize yourself with extensive subject areas.
